HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hello, everyone! After the tiring but delightful holiday season, it's time to get back to work again. I wish we all get a wonderful 2020 ahead! 😊

In 2018, I released an artbook zine featuring some of my paintings from 2012 to 2017. It is self-published and I sell it in conventions or any event that our group participates at.

Here's our KURO SAKU SHOP @ LAZADA!

My husband, Marius Black, and I formed this tandem group, KURO SAKU. And together, we create artworks and our own comics and literature. We also publish our zines and books in our humble studio (at home) as well. 

Influenced by the Japanese animé I had watched on TV when I was young, it has always been my dream to create my own comics or manga or even an animated movie of my own stories. That's why even in my paintings, you can see that my art style was inspired by anime, too. And meeting the right one with the same dream was one of the greatest gifts God has given me. It was a little hard at the beginning but because this is what we love, we don't mind even if there are hurdles on the road. And getting inspired by each other, together with our little one, is what keeps us going on and on, step-by-step, looking towards our goals and dreams.

At KURO SAKU, we paint, make comics, and write pieces of literature. We sell them at conventions or art markets here in Metro Manila (Philippines). This is what we do for a living. 

Last December, we opened our online shop @ LAZADA, an e-commerce website. This is for those who would like to avail our works but can't attend conventions and events where we sell them. All you need is to register for a Lazada account to buy our creations.

SALO SALO 2019

I am happy to be invited again to participate to this yearly event. It was on the first Salo Salo, back in 2012, that my art is appreciated by many for the first time (because, usually, it's just my family 😁). And also, nobody notices my works or entries in group exhibits that I had joined before that. So it was really a nice experience for me back then.

Here's my entry this year...

"Uy! Wish!"

"Uy! Wish!" means "Hey! It's a wish!" or "Hey! Let's make a wish!" in Tagalog (uh...I know it's an English word. I mean how it should be understood here). It's from a childhood memory where we, as kids back then, had this silly belief that you can make a wish from a feathery pappus of the Dandelion floating in the air if you're able to catch it. I thought it's just in my hometown but my husband said it's the same here in the city (Manila). So I guess most of Filipino kids in my time believed the same thing. I'm not sure with the kids today ^_^'

For my first post, I would like to announce that I'll be having a comic book release this coming weekend (October 12 and 13) at OCTOBER KOMIKET 2019!!! Yay!! 😸

DA-IB VOLUME 1 IS NOW AVAILABLE!!!💛

This compilation contains Chapters 1 to 4. I am now working on the 5th chapter which I am going to publish very soon. (Yay!) 😉

You can find our group, Kuro Saku, at our usual spot Table #60, to check our comics, artbooks, artworks, literature, stickers and more of our original works! 😊

The event will be held at Elements at Centris, Quezon City, PH! We'll be there from 9am to 8pm. SEE YOUUUU!!!!!!💛💛💛
